His opponents for selected ties on FA Cup third-round weekend are Dave Beasant and John Aldridge, who were on opposing sides when Wimbledon shocked Liverpool to win the 1988 final.
Beasant famously saved an Aldridge penalty as the 'Crazy Gang' triumphed 1-0 at Wembley and recalled the research that he did on the Reds striker's spot-kick technique before the final.
When the Crazy Gang won the FA Cup"I had seen Aldridge take maybe three penalties," Beasant told BBC Sport. "I said to myself: 'If I can stand still during his stutter and he sees me standing still, then he tends to go to my left.' He did."
Monday's third-round tie between Liverpool and AFC Wimbledon, who were formed in 2002 and have ownership of the original club's history, have brought memories of the 1988 final flooding back for those involved.
"People have been mentioning that penalty a lot more since the draw was made," said Aldridge, "I have watched it again many times since but it is one of those things I have got to live with, unfortunately.
"It is fantastic for Wimbledon that they have got a tie like this to look forward to and it is what they deserve for the work they have done."
Dave Beasant plunges to his left to save John Aldridge's penalty in the 1988 FA Cup final The game at Wimbledon's Kingsmeadow ground will be shown live on BBC One and the BBC Sport website, with kick-off at 19:55 GMT.
"I missed the third-round draw when it was made and when I checked my phone at about 10pm that night, I had dozens of missed calls and texts," added Beasant.
"It is so exciting. This is the proper romance of the FA Cup to bring these teams together. All those years ago, Wimbledon were in the same division as Liverpool, now the new team have come from the ashes of the old club to reach the third round for the first time, and have got a home tie against the Reds."

A correct result (picking a win, draw or defeat) is worth ONE point. Getting the exact score correct earns THREE points.
On New Year's Day, Lawro got two correct results from 10 games, with no perfect scores.
His score of two points was his worst of the season so far, and was beaten by Match of the Day commentator Steve Wilson, who picked four correct results, with one perfect score, to give him a total of six points.
We are keeping a record of the totals for Lawro and his guests (below), and showing a table of how the Premier League would look if all of Lawro's predictions were correct (at the bottom of the page).
All kick-offs 15:00 GMT unless otherwise stated.

This looks like it will be Alan Pardew's first game in charge of Crystal Palace and his first test will be to make sure his players deal with the surroundings at Dover's Crabble Athletic Ground.
If they do that, then they will have too much quality for their Conference opponents.
Lawro's prediction: 1-2
Dave's prediction: 1-2
Aldo's prediction: 1-3
Sheffield United have had a great run to get to the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup but I cannot see them upsetting QPR, especially at Loftus Road.
Lawro's prediction: 2-0
Dave's prediction: 2-1
Aldo's prediction: 1-1 (QPR to win the replay)
I don't know what is happening with Leeds on and off the pitch, and it is a sad state of affairs.
Their fans will still travel in force and Sunderland might rest a few players after a busy Christmas period, but I don't see it making much difference.
Lawro's prediction: 2-0
Dave's prediction: 2-1
Aldo's prediction: 2-1
Aston Villa cannot score, while Blackpool cannot do anything. If it was on TV, I would be watching this one from behind the settee.
Lawro's prediction: 2-1
Dave's prediction: 3-0
Aldo's prediction: 3-0
Manchester City beat Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 in the Capital One Cup in September, and it is hard to see this game ending up with too different an outcome.
Frank Lampard scored twice as City thumped Wednesday with seven second-half goals Whatever team City boss Manuel Pellegrini puts out, they should be too strong for the Owls.
They have had a busy festive period but, after this tie, City have another six days until their next Premier League game, which is away at Everton, so I do not expect Pellegrini to rest too many players on Sunday.
Lawro's prediction: 3-0
Dave's prediction: 3-0
Aldo's prediction: 4-0
Ipswich are going great under manager Mick McCarthy at the top end of the Championship, and are unbeaten in their last 11 games.A month ago, I would have given them more of a chance at St Mary's, but Southampton's form has picked up since their little blip and Ronald Koeman's side should have too much quality.
A much-changed Saints side went out to Sunderland in the fifth round of the FA Cup last season but, if they take it seriously, they could have a much longer run this year.
Lawro's prediction: 2-0
Dave's prediction: 2-0
Aldo's prediction: 2-0
There are 94 places between Stoke of the Premier League and Wrexham of the Conference, but only about 40 miles between the two clubs so this is is not far off a derby, and the Welsh side will bring a lot of fans with them.
In ties like this, though, home advantage makes such a difference for the bigger club.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes is up against his hometown club for a place in the fourth round Stoke have a had a good Christmas, taking seven points from their last three games, and that run should continue.
Potters boss Mark Hughes is from Wrexham so he should enjoy this tie all round, especially if his side wins.
Lawro's prediction: 2-0
Dave's prediction: 3-0
Aldo's prediction: 3-1
This is a fantastic tie for Yeovil but whatever Manchester United team goes to Huish Park it will be a good one, and I think they learned their lesson at MK Dons when they crashed out of the Capital One Cup.
Lawro's prediction: 0-2
Dave's prediction: 0-3
Aldo's prediction: 0-4. "My heart says 6-0 to Yeovil for this one - but I am not sure that is how it will turn out!"
You just know you will get a reaction from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and his team after their 5-3 defeat at Tottenham.I still see him making a couple of changes but I always think with Mourinho that, on the rare occasions when he has a bad defeat, he tends to stick most of the team back out there to prove to him that it was just a one-off. He is clever like that.
Watford are doing well at the top end of the Championship but I think it will be very difficult for them at Stamford Bridge.
Lawro's prediction: 3-0
Dave's prediction: 2-1
Aldo's prediction: 3-0
The repeat of last season's final should be interesting because I cannot see Hull boss Steve Bruce changing his team too much from the side that beat Everton on New Year's Day.
The Tigers were in mid-table when they started out on their cup run last time. They are fighting relegation this season but, even so, Bruce is not the kind of guy just to throw a game away.
Arsenal lift the FA Cup after beating Hull in last season's final Usually, I would expect Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to juggle his squad but he is under a bit of pressure after the non-performance in their defeat by Southampton.
That game underlined how the Gunners don't just need a new defender and defensive midfielder, they need a new goalkeeper too. Wojciech Szczesny is a good keeper but he is not top class, and therein lies one of their problems.
Neither side will want a draw, so that is what I am going for.
Lawro's prediction: 1-1 (Arsenal to win the replay)
Dave's prediction: 3-1
Aldo's prediction: 2-1
Burnley have been great in their last three games but they have only two points to show for it.
Harry Kane has been brilliant for Tottenham of late, and their away form has been very strong.
But I just wonder if Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will make a few changes. The FA Cup was not one of his priorities when he was in charge of Southampton last season.
Lawro's prediction: 2-1
Dave's prediction: 1-1 (Tottenham to win the replay)
Aldo's prediction: 1-1 (Tottenham to win the replay)
It is great to see Wimbledon keeping this tie at Kingsmeadow, with a capacity of under 5,000, rather than moving it to a bigger stadium.
Credit to them for trying to reward their loyal fans, but I cannot see home advantage helping Wimbledon too much.
If Liverpool's attitude is correct, they will go through to round four.
Lawro's prediction: 0-3
Dave's prediction: 2-2 (Liverpool to win the replay). "My heart says Wimbledon will get a draw against Liverpool because it would be nice for them to get a draw and get some money from a replay up at Anfield."
Aldo's prediction: 1-2. "I think Wimbledon will score but I still fancy Liverpool to get through."
Everton cannot buy a win at the moment - they have lost four in a row and have a lot of injuries.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez won the FA Cup with Wigan in 2013 The biggest difference between the Toffees this season and last season is that they are no longer difficult to beat.
It might suit them that they are playing West Ham, whose manager Sam Allardyce never strikes me as the biggest fan of the FA Cup.
I am going for a horrible, scrappy 1-0 win for Everton, but I don't think Toffees manager Roberto Martinez will mind how they get it, as long as they stop the rot.
Lawro's prediction: 1-0
Dave's prediction: 1-1 (West Ham to win the replay)
Aldo's prediction: 1-1 (West Ham to win the replay)
