Midfielder Lewis McGugan's loan spell at the Owls has finished and he has returned to his parent club Watford.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has hinted that second-choice goalkeeper Willy Caballero is likely to remain in the side after England number one Joe Hart was rested in the 3-2 win against Sunderland on 1 January.

"It is important when you play so many games - not only for Joe but for other players - to have an important rotation," said Pellegrini.

"I did the same in the Capital One Cup for Willy Caballero. I think it's good for Willy, good for Joe and good for the team."

Wednesday are 10th in the Championship, with City joint top in the Premier League and Pellegrini wants a long FA Cup run.

"For our team it is a very important cup," added Pellegrini. "This year we are out of the Capital One Cup so we will try to continue in the FA Cup as far as we can."

Manchester City and Sheffield Wednesday have already met in the Capital One Cup this season with City running out 7-0 winners.

The two sides have been drawn together five times in cup competitions with City going through on each occasion.

City midfielder Samir Nasri has scored in three of his last four FA Cup appearances.

Sergio Aguero has scored eight goals in eight FA Cup appearances for Manchester City.

Sheffield Wednesday have won none of their last 15 FA Cup ties against top flight teams (won none, drew five, lost 10).

Manchester City ended a run of 13 games without defeat (won 10, drew three) in the FA Cup against lower league opposition with their loss to Wigan Athletic in last season's sixth round.
