The 2014 fantasy football re-draft season is officially in the books with the Bengals’ 37-28, Week 16 stunning defeat of the Broncos to wrap up the Monday Night Football season. And we may have been treated to the best Monday night game of the year. The Bengals jumped out to a 20-7 first-half lead heading into the locker room on the heels of Jeremy Hill, who capped off the third series of the night with an 85-yard touchdown scamper. It was one of the better runs of the season. Out of the break, the Broncos scored 21 points in the third quarter to take a 28-27 lead into the final frame. The wheels then fell off Peyton Manning, who had just his fifth career four-interception game. The real back-breaker was a 30-yard pick-six to Dre Kirkpatrick. With the rain falling and cold temperatures, Manning threw a lame duck off his back foot right to Kirkpatrick. It sealed the win with four minutes to play. Kirkpatrick then put the cherry on top of the sundae by picking Manning off again on the next possession. The Bengals are going to have to ride Hill and the defense if they’re to make a playoff run. On the other side of the field, there’s an eerie feeling the Broncos may have another postseason collapse if all the eggs are going to be put in Manning’s basket.

In the AFC, the Patriots, Broncos, and Colts have locked up their respective divisions, with New England clinching the No. 1 seed after Denver’s loss. The Bengals and Steelers will duke it out for the AFC North crown next week on Sunday Night Football. The loser gets a Wild Card spot. The Chargers, Chiefs, Texans, and Ravens are in the hunt for the No. 6 seed. In the NFC, the Cowboys are the only team that’s clinched its division. But the Cardinals, Seahawks, Packers, and Lions have already punched their tickets to the postseason. They’re all still fighting for positioning. Detroit and Green Bay will fight for the NFC North next Sunday afternoon, while the Falcons and Panthers convene for the right to host a playoff game as NFC South champions. There’s plenty of intrigue remaining in the season’s final week.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-week $2.5 Million Fantasy Football league for Week 17's games. It's only $25 to join and first prize is $300,000. Starts Sunday, December 28th at 1pm ET. Here's the link.

Monday Night Football Quick Hits

Emmanuel Sanders (illness) and Peyton Manning (thigh) were both active despite being listed as questionable. Ronnie Hillman (foot) needs another week, but should be ready for the playoff run as C.J. Anderson’s change-of-pace. … A.J. Green hurt his arm on the fourth play off the game for the Bengals. He later returned after missing eight snaps, but shortly exited again thereafter and never returned. Green says he’ll play Week 17, if he can. … Giovani Bernard is much better in the 1B role to Jeremy Hill’s 1A. Bernard doesn’t have to get beat up between the tackles and gets to see touches in space. He’s piled up 184 total yards and one touchdown on 31 touches the past two weeks since OC Hue Jackson recommitted to Hill. … Demaryius Thomas could have had a much bigger night than his 7-115 line. He had a 50-yard catch called back on holding by LT Ryan Clady and a 30-yard grab negated by an offensive pass interference. … Julius Thomas doesn’t look right at all. Still battling that ankle, he can’t change direction. Thomas is only good in a straight line. … Terence Newman was benched midway through the game in favor of Dre Kirkpatrick, who had two fourth-quarter, game-sealing interceptions. The former first-round pick who once looked like a bust has earned his stripes on special teams behind ageless wonders Newman and Adam Pacman Jones. It may now be Kirkpatrick’s time. … Emmanuel Sanders has been a huge bargain both in terms of real-life salary and re-draft return value.

With Drew Stanton (knee) still not ready, the Cardinals will reportedly turn to rookie Logan Thomas for Week 17. The Cardinals are settled in as a Wild Card team in the NFC. They’ll do everything they can to get Stanton ready for Round One.

ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure expects Jackson to be ready for the battle of the NFC South against the Panthers this upcoming Sunday. His status will be updated no later than Wednesday.

Jimmy Clausen took a shot to the head in his Week 16 start against the Lions. He stayed in the game, but got home and called coaches to report delayed symptoms of a concussion. Clausen will miss Week 17 against the Vikings, forcing Jay Cutler back into the saddle at quarterback.
