Autocar wants to find Britain's best driver's car, and it's challenging a murderers' row of some of the world's best performance vehicles to find out, including the latest Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. All of them were therefore assembled at the Castle Combe Circuit to find a winner.
If it wants to take the crown from this pack of mostly European competitors, the 'Vette has to beat some steep competition. Its challengers include monsters like the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Ariel Atom 3.5R and Jaguar F-Type Coupe. As a further hurdle for the winner to clear, Autocar also has last year's champ among the fighters – the Porsche 911 GT3.

Even if you're not at all interested in the C7, there's still something here for practically any fan of fast cars. The competitors include relative oddities among the pack like the Renault Mégane RS Trophy and Alfa Romeo 4C. Plus, Autocar has some well-positioned microphones that let you hear the Atom wailing like a banshee and the roar of the 458 Speciale. Check out the video to see which one of these all-stars takes home the award this year.News Source: Autocar via YouTubeVideosAlfa RomeoBMWChevroletFerrariJaguarMcLarenPorscheCoupeSedanPerformanceSupercarsbmwbmw m4chevychevy corvetteferrariferrari 458ferrari 458 specialeporscheporsche 911porsche 911 gt3videoI'm reporting this comment as:Rude or offensiveNot constructive / off-topicSexual contentSpam or misleadingOtherReported comments and users are reviewed by Autoblog staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week to determine whether they violate Community Guideline. I'm only aware of the two engines that were blown were from C&D. Most likely driven much harder then most c7s but it's still a valid concern as it was designed to trackable. There've been 36k+ '14s sold and I think 2-3k sold per month for the 2015s so afaik engine issues are very minimal. Granted I've only seen a few dozen c7s but I never noticed gap or paint issues. You're not going to get a ferrari paint job on a vette and it seems like many people complaining on the forums of paint issues are expecting something exceeding or matching a $125k or more car. IMO it's just as good as any bmws I've seen. There's going to be slight panel gaps when working with plastic/fiberglass because of heat expansion and again it's from my limited number of c7s I've seen, my acceptance in what I find reasonable (again as good as other sports cars costing the same) I also tend to think the number of issues for gaps is actually much smaller then the previewed number because quite a number of people talking about gap issues on the forums. Everyone who has good panel fit is not posting they don't have an issue. people are much more likely to post when there is a problem, then when things are fine. I'm certainly not trying to take anything away from frustrated buyers and what's good enough for me could be different from you and others. On every forum I've been on or reviews from Amazon there will be people who are frustrated in one way or another (if there's a large amount of buyers) and see the c7 no different.
