Unlike the critics, I know that at this point, Katniss cannot just wake up and be happy - she is traumatized and damaged - and Mr. James Newton Howard has sculpted a perfect score to portray these emotions. It blends themes from both The Hunger Games and Catching Fire together while weaving in new, darker themes that bring a whole new element to the score. It's absolutely beautiful. And seriously,

THE HANGING TREE. The scene in the movie was INCREDIBLY powerful, and the song, beginning with just Jennifer Lawrence builds into an epic orchestral piece. I cannot say enough about this score - I LOVE it and I cannot wait to see what Mr. Newton Howard gives us next. This whole score, all 23 tracks, is a must have.

by TheDarkKnight96 So glad it's on this album! I really don't know why JLaw thinks she sounds like a "deer stuck in a fence." She has a beautiful voice and would make a great R&B singer.
