With more than 1400 listings vendors who sold in spring will be relieved to see the clearance rate climb back up.PT1M34S http://www.theage.com.au/action/externalEmbeddedPlayer?id=d-3m05o 620 349 December 7, 2014
The Melbourne market reported a better clearance rate at the weekend despite hosting the most auctions ever for a summer Saturday.
The result of 70.1 per cent of homes sold was a modest improvement on the previous two weekends, when rates had fallen below 70 per cent on consecutive weekends for the first time since July 2013.
Although the improvement on the previous weekends' results was marginal, it was nonetheless encouraging for sellers given the unprecedented rise in auction numbers over the past month.
15 Kalimna Street, Essendon, sold for $2,917,000.
A summer record of 1456 homes were listed for auction at the weekend, following 1325 auctions the previous weekend and 1312 at the same time last year.
