When the pass rush gets going, the defense can successfully hide the secondary issues and shut down an opponent’s passing game. With Gary Kubiak’s offense also performing efficiently, the result is a balanced team. 
The Bills defense continues to shut down opponents, but it’s simply too easy to game plan against the offense. Kyle Orton can’t drive the ball down the field accurately, and opposing defenses clamp down and send pressure. 
The best defensive player in the NFL grabs all of the headlines, but the Texans’ offensive line is quietly having an outstanding season, helping Arian Foster notch another 1,000-yard rushing season despite missing several games with injuries. 
The Falcons are protecting Matt Ryan better than they have all season, and this has allowed him the time to get Julio Jones going again. However, they are still having issues generating a consistent pass rush and stopping the run on defense.
The extent of Colin Kaepernick’s regression is difficult to fathom. He is turning the ball over at an alarming rate, he continues to overthrow receivers, and he makes bad reads. Without any hint of a passing offense and their coach out the door, the 49ers will continue to struggle. 
Out of nowhere, the Panthers offensive line has shown some signs of life. Going forward, the Panthers will need a repeat performance from this unit if they want to stay consistent on offense. 
In a season marred by injuries, inconsistent offense, and questionable coaching in all three phases, the Giants have a lot to address this offseason. Odell Beckham Jr. became the first rookie WR in NFL history to have six straight games with 90-plus yards.
The Raiders haven’t found too many wins this season, but Derek Carr has looked like the most impressive rookie quarterback. Despite dealing with limited talent at the skill positions and on the offensive line, Carr has looked noticeably more comfortable over the last few weeks. 
The Redskins have turmoil and unrest at quarterback, head coach and defensive coordinator. For most teams, this would not be normal. For the Redskins, this is just another season with Dan Snyder as the owner. 
With one of the worst rosters in the NFL, the Titans simply can’t compete on either side of the ball. Now that Zach Mettenberger’s trial period has been cut short due to injury, the Titans may be forced to draft another quarterback this offseason.
