Sydneysiders' obsession with rundown properties reached new heights on Monday night when an investor spent almost $1 million on a derelict home in Waverley.
The two-bedroom terrace at 68 Victoria Street sold at auction for $972,000, which was $92,000 above the reserve.

Room for improvement: The property had been in the same family since 1954, when it traded for £750.
